Description
NRC The Dutch composer Douwe Eisenga combines in his immediately convincing Requiem 1953 the Latin tradition with modern texts and recognizable, sometimes medieval musical forms. A wealth of effective contrasts and relief in this music reminds sometimes to Verdi, the frenetic rythmic choire-pieces refer to the Carmina Burana. An enchanting requiem. Kasper Jansen

NRC – enchanting requiem
PZC Eisenga’ music is touching and expressive…The often elegiac atmosphere in Eisenga’s Requiem reminds the mildness of Faure, his musical style with appealing rhythm and instrumentation (percussion) sounds regularly as a kind of combination of Carl Orff and the minimalist Philip Glass.
