Director Giuseppe Gigliorosso asked in May 2011 Francesco Di Fiore to write the soundtrack for Ore Diciotto In Punto.
The first notes that he wrote went to become one of the two main themes of the soundtrack. There was the urgency to write a piece for solo piano, as one of the protagonists is a pianist and one scene involved him playing on the piano a recognizable tune from the soundtrack. Thus, Nicola’s theme was born, under August 2011’s scorching sun.
Di Fiore also happen to be friend of one of the world’s greatest cellists, Giovanni Sollima. Giovanni has always been aware of his work and he knew about Ore Diciotto in Punto. Therefore, it was he himself to propose to join in and record part of the music. They managed to find a possible day for the recording, and, in a hurry, Francesco set to work. Thus, in February 2012, the other two “musical portraits” were born: Paride and Stella, which, along with the pre-existing Nicola (rewritten in a new version for cello and piano), were played and recorded with Giovanni.
Di Fiore composed the rest of the soundtrack for GliArchiEnsemble, and eventually a song on the theme of Stella, with lyrics by Valentina Gebbia.
Anothersource of pride is the presence of the singer Oriana Civile, who gave an intense interpretation of Stella’s Song accompanied by GliArchiEnsemble.
About Ore Diciotto in Punto (At Precisely Six O’Clock):
A dusty Office outside of Time manages the files of human beings’ lives. Paride has been working there for more than 3000 years. At precisely six o’clock of a rainy afternoon, Paride has an appointment with Nicola, a defeated and disillusioned vagrant. At the expected time, though, a chain of events unsettles their and many others lives.
Nothing of what happens could have been predicted and the Office’s immutable believes would collapse miserably.
In human existence there variables like love, friendship, the strength of ideas, joie de vivre. All these are more powerful than Fate and events in a life, which are sometimes so hard. Destiny is not written in the stars but we build it inside everyone of us. That’s because human beings could always have a choice, whatever may happen.
